WHY THE COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC AND TRADE AGREEMENT MATTERS
The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) significantly boosts food and drink exports from India to the UK by eliminating tariffs.
India’s food and drinks now enters the UK market with zero import duty, down from the previous 4% to over 70% levels.
This move is expected to make Indian food and drinks more competitive and potentially double exports to the UK in the next 2-3 years – creating huge opportunity for your business.
Zero duty on import of Indian Food and Drinks : The CETA removes import duties on Indian food and beverages, a major boost for the sector.
Increased competitiveness: Indian food and drink manufacturers will now have a significant advantage over their UK domestic counterparts and competitors from other countries, including Far East Asian rivals.
Projected growth: Exports are anticipated to grow by 50% in value within two to three years. Some estimates suggest exports could rise to $100 to $120 billion by 2030
